I was born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1948. Since my childhood, I was always fascinated by colours and images. As an adult, I found out I was colour-blind! Yet, I never gave up my passion for Art. One of my mentors, artist Haïm Scherrf,encouraged me always to persue my learning. He even said to me:" You are somehow privileged since colours do not limit you!" As I learned about the traditional interpretations of the Torah, I discovered what my mission was in this life: "Each Jew has a verse in the Bible that starts with the first letter and finishes with the last letter of his or her name.The text relates to their mission in the world.

My name is Mordekhaï.  First letter is "Mem";last letter is "yud" . My verse is :"O how I love Your Torah!Every day I rejoice in it" My mission is clear: I live Torah, I eat , read, study, think, pray,dream, paint, write Torah!

That is what I have been occupying myself for the last sixty years!! Naturally, I was privileged to meet and learn from various artists during my social activities. Nowadays, I am still inspired by Torah as I am discovering contemporary Art in the abstract however inhabited by my Judaic approach. I have exhibited my art in various galeries in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Sherbrooke, Miami at the Art Basel Festival twice in a row in 2016/17. and so many other places.
